The interior plan

The updated plans...

We took out a closet to make room to keep the refrigerator in the kitchen instead of the back hall. This change also gives us the opportunity to make a better flow in the bathroom by moving the toilet to the opposite wall and creating a curbless shower.  When we removed the floor tile, we found the original builder of the house had the tub on the right side of the room.  Subsequent owners "renovated" and moved the tub to the left of the room.  So, when you would walk into the bathroom, you would directly be walking into the tub.  Who does that???

So we are putting it back as the room was originally designed.  We have to replace the subfloor since the previous "plumbers" have made too many holes and cuts to actually support anything.  And we have to sister up the two main floor joists.  The joists have barely 2" of wood holding the board together. I am amazed the tub didn't fall through the floor.

Here is a sample of what NOT to do!

The rest of the footprint of the house remains the same, as the original architect designed the house.
