The bathroom

This little bathroom has so many problems.  No shower. The tiniest sink. Not a straight wall on the right. And you walk right into the tub as you enter the room.

And a radiator right in the middle of the room.

The tile was so poorly installed, it was just falling off the wall.  The wallpaper was dated and didn't coordinate with the tile color.  The tile easily lifted off the original wood floors.  The wood floor around the toilet was completely rotted from years of toilet overflow.  And once we removed the wood floor, we found the subfloor had so many holes.  From the basement, we also found that the two main floor joists supporting the tub area was so cut, barely 2" of wood was holding it together.

First thing, is to get the structural integrity of the room safe again.  We are installing two 2 x 10 x 12 sister to the floor joists and new subfloor so that we can add new tile.  While the original house had a wood floor, we are going for a classic hexagon small tile on the floor, a white subway tile on the wall with black accents, and a color accent on the remaining wall (color to be determined).

Our inspirations are pictured below.  We salvaged a claw foot tub from a neighbor and acquired a pedestal sink from another neighbor.  We already have the toilet which after a bit of cleaning and a new seat will work just fine.
